Tampa Trip

Mom Lyons was off for Spring Break, so Aiden and I headed down to Tampa.  Aiden enjoyed several firsts, including his first time at the beach and his first time on a swingset.  We had a blast with Grandpap and Mimi (and their cats!), though we missed Clyde very much.  He had some important things to do at home... like reenlist!  Aiden seemed to remember the pool... he pouted and squirmed everytime I took him out of the water to dry off.  While in the pool, he discovered how hilarious splashing is, and tried to get away from me and swim on his own.  The calm waves and (relatively) warm water of Siesta Key provided Aiden a great introduction to the beach.  He loved the water and kept trying to run around me to get ride the waves solo.  We cannot wait until our next visit to Tampa!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

(where Grandpap & Mimi bought Aiden lots of great stuff!)

Grandpap and Aiden read... Aiden loves the sound effects!

New high chair...

...that comes in a really fun box!

Back into the water!

Let's get wet! (again)

Wet sand feels good between the toes!

Move it or lose it, Mom!  I'm going for a swim!

Happy 1st Birthday, Aiden!

Aiden is 1 year old!  He was delighted that his wonderful big sisters came to celebrate with him.  He is especially grateful for all the beautiful cards and gifts his family sent... THANK YOU all!  We started off with his official first cupcake.  After a few moments of trepidation, Aiden discovered that yellow cake and vanilla frosting (with blue sprinkles) is a likeable creation!  We have yet to master the concept of a plate...

Lauren and Ciala show Aiden the ole birthday ropes.

This cupcake isn't bad!

Ok, it's pretty good!

Everyone is watching me and laughing... I'll join in!

Mommy and her big boy.

Who needs a plate?

Mmmm...

This birthday stuff is fun!

Oh, the plate is for smashing the cupcake... I get it!

After a thorough wipedown and a shirt change, we hit the gift pile!  The cards all had fun, smiling faces on them!  Ciala and Lauren helped deliver a quick refresher course on Unwrapping 101, a program they originally taught him at Christmas.  He got the hang of it and dug in to his new toys and clothes.  We all had a blast with our favorite 1-year-old boy!
